In the rhythm of the ocean
Bali lies in the heart of tropical Indonesia and its coast is washed by the waters of the Indian Ocean. The sea is one of the most striking elements of the island – it shapes its landscape, influences everyday life and offers countless ways to get to know Bali. From surfing waves to the colorful world below the surface to long days spent on the beach. The ocean takes many forms in Bali, and each one is worth discovering.

Surfer's Island
Bali is one of the most famous surfing destinations in the world. On its coast you will find waves for experienced surfers as well as places where beginners can discover the joy of riding a wave for the first time. Surfing here is not just a sport. It is part of a lifestyle that naturally blends with the atmosphere of coastal towns and villages. Checking the waves in the morning, surfing on a scooter, having coffee after returning from the water or watching experienced surfers at sunset – these small moments are also part of the rhythm of life in Bali.

Diving in Bali
There is another world hidden beneath the surface of Bali. Coral reefs, schools of tropical fish, sea turtles, shipwrecks and larger marine animals also make the island an attractive destination for diving and snorkeling.
Famous diving sites include Tulamben, where the USS Liberty shipwreck is located, surrounded by coral and marine life. Another option is Menjangan Island in the west of Bali, known for its deep walls, coral reefs and rich underwater life. For more experienced divers, there are also interesting sites such as Nusa Penida, Crystal Bay and Manta Point.

Beaches worth discovering
In addition to the famous beaches that are bustling with life, you will also find quieter places with fine sand, clear water and views that tempt you to stay a little longer. Each beach has its own character – some are ideal for surfing, others for swimming, snorkeling or long moments at sunset.

Kuta Beach
Kuta is one of Bali’s most famous beaches and a place that has greatly influenced the island’s modern history as a surfing destination. The long sandy beach is popular for surfing, swimming and watching the sunset. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops and other places in the area, which give Kuta its lively and energetic atmosphere.

Seminyak Beach
Seminyak offers a more elegant version of the Balinese coast. The beach is lined with stylish establishments, restaurants and hotels and feels calmer during the day than neighboring Kuta. It is the ideal place for a long afternoon by the ocean, a walk on the beach or an evening drink at sunset.

Nusa Dua Beach
Nusa Dua represents a quieter and more developed side of Bali. White sandy beaches, clear shallow water and pleasant swimming conditions create the ideal environment for relaxing by the sea. The area is also known for its luxury resorts and expansive beaches, which provide plenty of space for peaceful days away from the hustle and bustle of southern Bali.
